Jonathan Moscone - Auctioneer

Jonathan Moscone is excited to bring his 35 years of experience as an arts leader to his work as an auctioneer, raising money for non-profit organizations.

Prior to serving as the Director of the California Arts Council, the state’s arts funding agency, he was Chief Producer of Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and spent 15 years as the Artistic Director of California Shakespeare Theater. While at Cal Shakes, Jon expanded the breadth of programming of and support for the organization, elevating the organization’s budget from $2 million to $5 million annually.

During his tenure, he produced and directed over 70 productions of Shakespeare, classics and new work; created education programs for thousands of young people, and pioneered community engagement programs that increased Cal Shakes’ reach for audiences, community members and young learners throughout the Bay Area.

While at Cal Shakes, Jon led a team of staff and volunteers to raise upwards of $700,000 annually at the organization’s gala benefit, and he hopes to bring that same energy, skill and commitment to his work as an auctioneer at Stellar Fundraising Auctions.

A native San Franciscan with deep ties to the City’s artistic, political and philanthropic communities, Jonathan received his Masters of Fine Arts in Directing from the Yale School of Drama and lives in the City with his husband Darryl, dog Lucy and cat Turtle.
