About Devon Bell

Devon Bell brings intelligence, passion, humor, and an entertainer’s sensibility to everything he does. His commitment to helping people runs to his core and has guided his path throughout his career.

Devon’s first career was as a realtime captioner for the deaf and hard of hearing. Over the course of 20 years, he has captioned U.S. Presidents, astronauts, and during live surgeries. “The pace, the pressure, the sense of accomplishment,” says Devon, “were all good precursors to becoming a fundraiser.”

He also has a lifetime of entertainment experience, and is no stranger to being onstage. Devon started playing piano when he was seven years old, took up the drums at age ten, and has played in bands throughout his life.

Devon grew up in the same small town as Greg Quiroga, where they became lifelong friends.  When Greg introduced Devon to the world of fundraising auctions, he was hooked. He started working as a ringman for fundraising events in the Bay Area in 2010 and became an auctioneer in 2014.

“It’s an honor, and an amazing experience,” says Devon, “to help facilitate a community’s public expression of support for an organization they love. I feel lucky and blessed to share in their celebration, and I always try to bring that feeling to my performance.”

Devon works with schools, arts organizations, and public interest groups all over the Bay Area and beyond. His clients include the Diversity Center of Santa Cruz, Chanticleer, Breast Cancer Emergency Fund, Bread & Roses, Miraloma Elementary School, and many more.

He lives in Davis and spends as much time with his children and family as possible.
